Each pet gender has their own pros and cons associated with it. Now let us focus on the Cat breeds and which to choose. Although feline personalities vary widely, male cats are often known to be more friendly compared to female cats. Many male cats have a cuddly lap cat type of personality. Female cats are often more cautious and may take longer to trust you given their motherly nature However, once you’ve proven your worth, the female cats can be very affectionate. Male cats are often significantly larger in size compared to female cats.

Of course, with these, there will come some disadvantages. The main disadvantage of a male cat is that they “spray.” Similar to a skunk when they feel threatened they “spray” a certain odor.  If you see a male cat with his tail straight up in the air backing toward a wall, he’s probably spraying it with urine call it somewhat territorial. The resulting horrible smell will be your next clue.

If you have little rodents in your home, the best choice are the female cats. Female cats are often better in chasing out the mice compared to males. Cats of either gender that are “fixed” are better mousers than those that are intact because they think about hunting and not finding a mate.  Of course, their mouse catching ability depends a lot more on the cat’s personality than the sex of the cat.
